H&SS Graduate Research

A hallmark of Carnegie Mellon University is interdisciplinary research applied to real-world problems. Our faculty include international leaders in fields ranging from decision science to bioethics to health psychology to logic and computation. What's more, we place a premium on the ability of our faculty to be good mentors and teachers as well as researchers. As a result, H&SS graduate students regularly produce groundbreaking research and establish lasting reputations while they study here.

While graduate students work most closely with their departments and advisors, Carnegie Mellon University also provides broad support through the Graduate Programs Office. In particular, the Graduate Small Project Help (GUSH) program was developed to help graduate students reach their full potential by providing some types of funding assistance for research and research conferences. The GPO also sponsors regular professional development series events throughout the academic year. Visit the GPO's website for more information.
