The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor, position beginning Sept. 1, 2009.
Areas Of Specialization: Open, but we are particularly interested in research in rational choice, language, and specific sciences, particularly physics and biology.
Successful applicants are expected to have philosophically well-motivated projects and demonstrated ability for related formal or empirical research that engages science or policy. Job requirements include teaching two courses per semester (4/yr), graduate student supervision, and some committee work. Applicants from relevant areas outside of philosophy will be considered, if their work is philosophically motivated and informed. The Department particularly invites applications from women and members of under-represented minorities.
Applications received by November 1 will receive fullest consideration. The deadline for applications is November 10, 2008.
Applicants are requested to include a resume, a sample of written research, a summary of teaching experience, three letters of reference, and a transcript associated with the highest academic degree earned.
