The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor, position beginning August 15, 2010.
Areas Of Specialization: Ethics or Social and Political Philosophy.
Areas Of Concentration: Open, but we are especially interested in engagement with other disciplines, such as economics, law or the sciences.
We are committed to expanding the Department’s strengths in normative and applied ethics and political philosophy and seek a candidate who will make a significant contribution to the
Center for the Advancement of Applied Ethics and Political Philosophy.
Responsibilities: Exemplary research and publication, teaching two courses per semester (4/yr), graduate student supervision, and some committee work. Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to collaborate in research with experts in her or his area of application. Applicants from relevant areas outside of philosophy will be considered, if their work is philosophically motivated and informed. The Department particularly invites applications from women and members of under-represented minorities.
