Vagel Keller is a visiting assistant professor of history whose courses and research focuses on the relationships among technology, public policy, and environmental change.
His work includes the written dissertation in the history program: Vagel Charles Keller, Jr., “Forgotten Brownfields: Rural Industrial Districts in Pennsylvania, 1870-1930.” 2005. Prior to his work as a professor he was a U.S. Army officer. This was followed by work as a PHMC scholar-in-residence in 2002. He also a consulting scholar for several projects dealing with industrial and environmental history. Keller received a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering and a doctorate in history.
