H&SS Servers and Accounts 

For faculty and departments, H&SS Computing offers two network storage and web hosting solutions. File server space is available to faculty members to store class files and other related items in a location accessible to students. This space is accessible while on the Carnegie Mellon computing network as well as via authenticated FTP or VPN.

Web hosting is available to departments and faculty members, although faculty are encouraged to utilize Carnegie Mellon's Blackboard system for class materials. The H&SS web server is a Windows 2003 Server, running IIS, PHP, MySQL, and ASP. Both servers are in physically secure locations and are backed up regularly.
