The Center for the Arts in Society Student Affiliates (CASSA) connects interested students to the resources that the Center for the Arts in Society has to offer, both on and off campus. Some of these resources include:

  • access to working with a variety of interdisciplinary arts and humanities faculty members;
  • off-campus Center initiatives;
  • contacts and information about similar Centers and programs outside of Carnegie Mellon;
  • connecting and supporting interdisciplinary students in the arts and humanities.

Some of the CASSA topics for this year include:

  • connecting students with interdisciplinary campus and community projects;
  • connecting students with CAS faculty members to share research and mutual academic interests;
  • a forum for student presentations of interdisciplinary work at the end of the academic year.

CASSA is open to all students of all majors at Carnegie Mellon. Graduate as well as undergraduate students are welcome to participate. The amount of participation is totally up to you. CASSA's goal is to facilitate your interests, however far they may take you. You can come to meetings if you happen to be interested in the particular topic, volunteer or intern in a community project, find out what CAS faculty members are researching, present your own work, or possibly receive a grant to do interdisciplinary work with a faculty member.
