Study abroad

Choosing to study aboard can positively impact your competitiveness whether it be for a job search or graduate school admission. When studying abroad, you expand your experiences in the areas of culture, diversity, history, politics, languages as well as gain self confidence and more self awareness. It exhibits to the employer or admission committee that you have a global experience. For some employment positions it is a requirement or at minimum, strongly encouraged that you have study abroad experience. At Carnegie Mellon, students are served by The Office of International Education; more information is also available at the OIE's study abroad website. The Department of Modern Languages also offers country-specific study abroad information and information on summer programs, as well as study abroad scholarships.
