Transferring to H&SS from another college at Carnegie Mellon

If you are currently enrolled in another college at Carnegie Mellon, and you want to transfer to H&SS, you need to complete an internal transfer. It involves some paperwork and meeting with the H&SS Academic Advisory Center.

H&SS Admissions will look at your academic record, current academic standing, your areas of major interest in H&SS, and the timing of your application.

To apply, complete an Application of Internal Transfer and submit it to the H&SS Academic Advisory Center (AAC) in Baker Hall A57. Contact the AAC at (412) 268-2924 to schedule an appointment with an advisor and request an Academic Audit form. The academic advisors are available to meet with you throughout the year except for the two weeks prior to registration week and registration week itself, since these three weeks are reserved for current H&SS student registration advising.

Students are generally eligible for internal transfer beginning the second semester of their first year.

For more internal transfer guidelines, including how and when the internal transfer decisions are made, view the Internal Transfer Guidelines PDF.
