H&SS Academic Advisory Center

The Academic Advisory Center (AAC) is a "home base" for all H&SS undergraduate students. For all freshmen and transfer students, the AAC serves as a home department until they declare a major. Our goal is to provide meaningful, effective, and multi-faceted academic advising for H&SS students, with a primary focus on new and undeclared undergraduate students. Students see their AAC advisors for many different reasons, including selecting courses, discussing academic difficulties, adjusting the college life, choosing a major, and learning about scholarships and research opportunities. The AAC staff enjoys getting to know our H&SS students and helping them to reach their full potential.

Once students declare a major, they are assigned to a faculty advisor in their department. However, students may still return to the AAC for any academic planning, such as general education requirements, other majors and minors, transfer credit, cross-registration, and use of campus resources.
